The Batyr Bloc

What the Bloc is

Mahuset agreed the Batyr Bloc on 2 November 2020 and remains an active participant.

It was never meant as a political union. The founders took their model from the G7 and the G20: a standing arrangement for diplomatic co-operation, joint projects and cultural exchange, resting on friendships that mostly existed already.

Members

The Bloc's core members are Mahuset, Hasanistan and Brennonia. They have recognised one another since December 2021.

Much of the citizenry of the members is shared, and the same people hold citizenship in more than one member state. Mahusetan citizenship carries no obligation to live in a claimed territory and does not affect your existing nationality; it is described under citizenship.

Mahuset's tie to Hasanistan is older than the Bloc. The two allied in early 2013, and Hasan Çakar now sits in Lazia as Greffier-Consular, presiding over the Lazian Chamber. The Confederation's other partnerships, inside the Bloc and outside it, are set out under foreign relations.

The Confederation has not published a procedure for admitting further members to the Bloc.

Summits

The first summit was held online on 2 November 2020, the day the Bloc was agreed, under Hasan Çakar's chairmanship. It set the pattern that has been kept since.

Summits follow at roughly three-month intervals. The chair rotates between participants, so no one member holds it permanently.

Joint projects

The Bloc's early work included sporting competitions and an intermicronational hub.

It also set up a shared press association, the Van der Huijsen-Çakar Press Association, named for Van der Huijsen and Çakar. The association was revived in July 2026 to pool coverage between the Mahusetan, Hasani, Brennonian and Knuffeldierlandic titles. Mahusetan press and broadcasting are described under culture.

Mahuset's part in the Bloc

The Bloc is named in the title of the department that handles it: the Ministry of Foreign and Batyr Bloc Affairs. The ministry is responsible for Mahusetan participation.

The Bloc online

The Bloc publishes at batyrbloc.org and keeps a Mastodon presence at mastodon.batyrbloc.org. Neither is published by the Confederation.

Opening relations with Mahuset

Recognition by Mahuset is a separate matter from the Bloc. The minister may extend tacit recognition and grant states of friendship; formal recognition of another state requires an Act of the Lazian Chamber or an executive order.
